Chief Executive Officer
Sally Cudmore, PhD, MSc Tech Man
Sally has almost 20 years experience in research, commercialisation and management in academia and the pharma industry. She has a BSc in biochemistry from UCC and a PhD in Cell Biology from the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Germany, followed by postdoctoral research at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF). She then moved to Elan Pharmaceuticals as Group Leader of Cell Biology and Project Leader on a gene delivery joint venture with a Seattle-based biotechnology company, Targeted Genetics. Sally has also completed an M.Sc. in Technology Management at the National Institute for Technology Management in UCD. Since 2003, Sally has managed the Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre, a gastrointestinal health research centre with a staff of 150 scientists and clinicians.
Business Development Manager
Barry Skillington
Barry is a graduate of University College Cork with a BSc in Human and Animal Nutrition and a Post Graduate Diploma in Food Science and Technology. He has over 20 years’ experience working in the commercial food sector in both product development and business development, here at home and in the USA .Having returned home as Product Development Manager with Dairygold Consumer Foods, he later took up the post of National Account Manager for Breeo Foods. He comes to Atlantia Food CRO from a consultancy background to the consumer foods sector where he developed products and business, gaining listings in the major multiples both at home and abroad.
Human Studies Manager
Andrea Doolan, BSc
Andrea obtained a BSc in Microbiology and a HDip in Applied Science from NUI Galway. She worked as Clinical Trials Coordinator for the Harvard AIDS Clinical Trials Group at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston before returning to Ireland and taking up the position as Human Studies Manager with the Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre. In this role, Andrea has managed more than 30 human studies for food, biotech and pharma companies as well as academic researchers.
Head of Finance
David Beechinor, BBS, FCCA
David is a BBS graduate of UL, a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA), has a Diploma in Management and Leadership from UCC and is a member of the Institute of Project Management. He worked for Ernst and Young and as an accountant for Apple Computers. In 2004 he led the management buyout of a Clinical Research Centre, where he was subsequently Finance and Commercial Director until 2010. David is on the Board of Management at the Shandon Therapy Centre Cork, a voluntary centre for people with eating disorders.
