Immunity and Inflammatory Health
We have extensive experience in interventions and sample analysis in the area of immune function, including aspects from inflammation to allergies and auto-immunity. Some of these are listed below:
- Defence against pathogens in the GI tract – e.g. reduction in number of infections or severity of infections (clinical diagnosis, microbiological measures, questionnaires) e.g. travellers diarrhoea, food borne pathogens
- Defence against pathogens at other sites in the body – e.g. reduction in number, severity or duration of infections e.g. colds, ’flu
- Measurement of immune response – measurement of immune/inflammatory markers, sIgA in stool, adjuvant effect
- Allergy and auto-immunity (including lactose intolerance, asthma, eczema, coeliac) – e.g. resistance to allergans, allergan specific IgE measurements, auto-immune markers, transglutaminase
- Reduction of inflammation – measurement of inflammatory markers e.g. stimulated and non-stimulated IL6, IL8, IL10, IL12, IFNγ, IL1β, TNFα, CXCL10/IP10, SAA, salivary cortisol, hsCRP, stool calprotectin (of relevance to inflammatory conditions such as IBD, rheumatoid arthritis, hay fever etc)
